Recently, SustyVibes – a young Nigerian social enterprise aimed at increasing awareness on sustainability issues in Nigeria, with the partnership of Abuja Literary Society, Orb Photobooth, 360nobs, My Afrik Art, Channels, The Stroll Live, among others, hosted a Susty Party in Abuja.

The party which is the second one by the organisation and first ever to hold in Abuja brought together spoken word poets to use their art to preach sustainability. Spoken word artistes like Sage Hassan, BrainBox, Yasky, Deborah Braide, Emmanuel Ayoola and Teniola Falade were present at the event and spoke on issues like wildlife protection, child marriage and climate change.

Development experts like Esther Agbarakwe of the Ministry of Environment, Jacqueline Farris of the Shehu Musa Yar’adua Foundation, Rotimi Lawal of YouthHubAfrica, Hamzat Lawal of Connected Development (CODE) amongst others also graced the occasion.

The event was supported by the Shehu Musa Yar’adua Foundation, Health of Mother Earth Foundation, LUFASI Nature Park, FABE International and many more environmental stakeholders.

The event was held at The Coconut Ranch, Jabi Airport road, Abuja. The event also screened for the first time in Nigeria,  Before The Flood  – a climate change documentary by Grammy award winner – Leonardio Di Carpio and also an indigenous documentary on waste management in West Africa – The Valuable Waste Movie by Adesoji Adejolu-Adeyemi. The event ended with a bout of networking.
