Kaduna Rapper, D.I.A, on why he released Enough is Enough in support of #StopSouthernKadunaKillings

Amidst the ongoing chaos and sporadic killings of locals of the Southern Kaduna state people by "armed Fulani herdsmen", Kaduna Entertainment Awards (KEA) rap artiste, D.I.A with the help of talented Kaduna-bred singer/vocalist J.R, has come up with a song cry, titled Enough is Enough, to express his dissatisfaction as to how lightly the government is handling the situation.

The song is in support of the ongoing movement with the hashtag #StopSouthernKadunaKillings, as a means of lending their voice to that of the masses using their musical talent.

#StopSouthernKadunaKillings is an online campaign launched in showmanship and in solidarity with Southern Kaduna people.

Speaking to TJ on what necessitated the song, D.I.A born Didam Iliya Ajeye said: "The song was released to air out our grief as youths of Southern Kaduna and also to express our dissatisfaction as to how the government is handling the ongoing killings of the locals of Southern Kaduna."

He further went ahead to state in his opinion on what the government can do to alleviate the situation facing Southern Kaduna people. "It might not be quite simple, but they are the government and they possess the power, so instead of blaming the past government and trying to justify the killings, they should take the situation more seriously like they would if It happened in other regions of the state not just by condemning the killings but by intensifying security in these regions as we see when there is chaos in other parts of the state", he said.

The mellow tune, Enough is Enough, rendered in English, Pidgin and Hausa, paints mental images of pain, sorrow, neglect, despair, sadness, grief, as it puts the government in the spotlight for not taking actions in the way of putting an end to the current happenings of the Southern Kaduna people.

Enough is Enough (lyrics)  D.I.A feat. JR

Verse 1

*This is for those who are victims of war.
*this is for those who are living with scars.
*and woe to those who are trying to reap us apart.
*we will forever shine brighter than the moon and the stars.
*now they trying cut us off and wipe away our existence.
*but we can hear this lost souls from a distance
*crying out loud, wives with no spouse
*kids with no house,..... government raising eye brows.
*I thought that leaders were supposed to be for all
*But now its apparently clear, after all.
*its politics, the games are fixed
*against the odds and we are sick
*and tired of the cold blooded manslaughter.
*when everything could be stopped by a man's orders.
*but sadly, they prefers to sit back and play the blame game.
*politicians and terrorists ....you all the same thing.

Hook

*We tired of the killings          enough is enough
*they murder women and children      enough is enough
*now they tag us as the villains ...... enough is  enough
*omo we've had it to here, we say enough is enough

Verse 2

*These Dark clouds are all over us again
*now who's gone save us from this  sorrow and pain
*now human blood now flows like rivers and streams
*and our leaders be saying foul and ridiculous things.
*while in broad day light we visited by grim reapers
*our tender nature seems to be our only weakness
*we've had it to here omo enough is enough,
*they went from arrows and spears and graduated to guns
*trying to understand why the government's slow to respond.
*to distress calls, and now they say its our fault......
*hmmmm.....I'm short of words I don't even know what to say now.
*caught up in between this chaos and mayhem.
*see we're tired of the killing, so we raising up our voices
*high up to the ceiling, also piling up our losses
*straight outta southern Kaduna, bakin ciki babu murna.
*irin wannan zapin, kaman an yii mana alura
*we ain't got much to say in ban DA adua.
*gaiya Mani menene toh ya hada sorro DA Zuma.
*now they should let us bee, leave our lands.
*and the government better act up or we take our stands.

Hook
