Jazz artiste, Etuk Ubong to release single, Uyai Mi Margaret, on christmas day


Uyo-state-born Jazz artiste, Etuk Ubong, is set to gift his fans a new jazz melody, rendered in earth music style this festive period. The song which he titles Uyai mi Margaret, will be out on the 25th of December. 


Asked what inspired the song and what it means, Etuk said: "Uyai mi Magaret which means My beautiful Margaret in my mother tongue, is a song I wrote in loving memories of my late mom. The song is inspired by her and I'm dedicating it to the beautiful souls of all women and mothers in the world."

Uyai mi Margaret is going to be part of his debut album, dubbed Tales of Life. Tales of Life which will drop in February, will give a personal account of the artiste's life's experiences and a reflection of how he perceives life in general. 

Etuk Ubong is a young and talented Jazz artiste and Trumpeter whose music profile is on a constant rise within and outside the country. He started playing at the age of 14 and studied under Etop Adolphors and Victor Ademofe. To his credit are compositions such as Thinking, Miracle, Prayer and Reading in the Dark.   

The 24-year-old Trumpeter is currently enrolled for performer's diploma in Jazz Studies at the University of Cape Town and studied Jazz at the Peter King College of Music in Lagos.
