In the world of Charles Oputa Alexander Jnr., his art

Charles Oputa Alexander Jnr. is an Abuja-based decorative artist, fashion designer and Business Administrative graduate from South Carolina University. He went on to further his education, obtaining a certificate in Management in Marketing from the same school. Alex, as he is fondly called by close associates, is a native of Oguta, from Imo state, and one of the children of Nigerian musician, Charles Chukuemeka Oputa mostly known as Charly Boy.
Upon completing his education abroad, Alex decided to move back to Nigeria, establishing himself as a fashion designer, under the name Retail Therapy. Experiencing a lot of backlog in the business, he decided to work with established night life outfits such as Aristotle, Candy and The Bank in Abuja, due to his flare for night life.

This venture into night life business didn't give him much fulfillment as he had thought and so, once more driven by the need to reach for his essence, embedded in originality, Alex Jnr. picked up art.

His art work was birthed out of the need to create 'made in Nigeria' pieces unique to himself; his creativity, ideas, visions, lifestyle, etc. Backed up by experiences he gained from working at IKEA (a furniture company in America), he started creating/producing decorative art furnitures.

Given the state of the Nigerian economy, he decided to not do art for art's sake, hence decorative art. Produced under the brand name Tubber Art, his decorative furnitures, which serve multiple functions, each portray an emotion, a thought pattern and with specific name attached to each one.

Alex's pieces are displayed and used at selected events, studios, offices and by high-end clients.
